Food & Wine can be paired in many different ways; there are no exact rules in pairing,
only suggestions. Here are some different options:
Classic Food & wine Pairings:
Match creamy wines with creamy foods:
Creamy wines matched with cream-based sauces or a creamy cheese; the textures of both will complement each other to create a balanced pairing.
Match acidic wines with acidic food:
Bright, crisp wines are great to match with fish & lemon sauce. If the food you are cooking has any citrus in it, the best complimenting flavor would be a crisp wine.
Match sweet wines with sweet food:
The best way to pair sweet wines with complimenting food would be to consider the color or the wine. Compare color to color, a dark port would go well with a dark chocolate while lighter fruiter desserts would pair well with a sweeter white. This is similar to the chocolate and wine pairing.
